Striking right chord as petulant glam doll in her debut vehicle "Monisha En Monolisa" with the direction of her Guru T.Rajendar, Mumtaz made her innings in Tamil Cinema soon became poster gal in every man's wall, and rolled off with good commercial offers sharing frames with noted stars like Prabu, Arjun, Prashanth, and Vijay.
For the first time coming up in mainstream role as village belle she has utilised her chance to sizzle on screen opposite her mentor(T.Rajendar), who has weilded the megaphone, composed tunes as well as showed some presence on screen prancing around trees wrapping up baddies using some mouthfull dialouges, straight forward robustic 'TR'"Brand mark".
The story revolves around Veerasamy(T.R.), Former politician and lawyer known for his noble deeds helping people in distress when ever they ly low. In the meantime his little and lovable sister(Sheela) is attracted towards snitch's sibling(Arun). Seeing the estranged lovers, Veerasamy opposes their affair.
Undergoing trauma with her family 'Salt Kotta Sarasu'(Mumtaz) comes off her despicable family and joins as a maid at T.R's home. Noble deeds of Veerasamy, slowly captures a place in her heart and dream sequences just flows out from isolated person. Sudden twist in the tale shows Meghna Naidu oozing lots of oomph and seducing Sheela's lover and sabotages their love affair.
Despite singing wrecky duets, Veerasamy plays a saviour in sorting out the wear and tear jerks in both the families. The final plot conveys "Did he bell the cat" or Not? and how far his attempts were made to pass the acid test. This forms the story of the climax.
T.Rajendhar as Veerasamy has managed to live up to mark with his sentimental touches sounding loud, except for his garish costumes, eye affecting sets, stout physique, and pot belly totally haggard trying to match the dance strokes of his son (Simbu) with the company of flabby Mumtaz which makes you groan out of fatigue. (Better way of advicing T.R. not to fire the screen except direction).
Mumtaz as Salt kotta Sarasu looks voluptuous and tried to pull out some acting strings with a bit of asusual exposure here and there like a typical heroine.
Songs are too jarring not his usual style. On the whole movie is too sketchy packed with lot of glamour filled inn with high voltage of sentiments and mellow drama. This movie is strictly for T.R.'s hard hitting fans who loves watching run-on-the mill kind.
